Zhao Dong President of Xiamen Airlines | Xiamen Airlines

On December 3, 2024, Xiamen Airlines and Michelin Guide introduced the Michelin Guide Fujian 2025 in Xiamen. This collaboration marks a unique partnership between air travel and fine dining, combining Fujian's local customs with international culinary trends.

Xiamen Airlines has consistently worked to enhance its service quality, introducing "A Starred Journey," a high-end catering service for first-class passengers featuring menus from Michelin-starred restaurants like Taian Table, Meet the Bund, and Chef Tam's Seasons. This initiative makes it the first domestic airline to offer meals from Michelin three-starred restaurants at cruising altitude. The airline's commitment to quality has earned it the "World Class award" from APEX for three consecutive years, making it the first Chinese airline to receive this honor.

The partnership with Michelin Guide aligns with both parties' shared vision of quality and international standards. Together, they aim to provide food enthusiasts with a list of top restaurant recommendations in Fujian—a region known for its rich natural resources—and embark on a journey of "Star Appreciation in Great Taste."

The 2025 Michelin Guide for Fujian Province recommends 69 restaurants: five awarded One MICHELIN Star, 47 receiving Bib Gourmand status, and 17 selected by the guide. While honoring traditional Fujian cuisine, the guide also promotes flavor fusion, showcasing the dynamic appeal of Fujian's culinary scene.

During the launch event, industry experts and media partners experienced Xiamen Airlines' exclusive cabin services. Chef XiamenAir presented a dish blending Fujian flavors with global influences: Iberian Ham with Porcini Mushroom and Red Onion Cooked Rice. This dish reflects Chef XiamenAir's "Sustainable Cuisine" philosophy using ingredients like porcini mushrooms from Yunnan’s "Xiamen Airlines Farm."

Xiamen Airlines has also introduced themed flights such as "riding the wings of egrets, seizing the stars together," featuring an airborne food service in collaboration with Chao Shang Chao (Chaoyang), listed in Michelin Guide Beijing 2025. Through initiatives like these and their "Farm to Star Program," which promotes rural revitalization by bringing quality ingredients onboard, Xiamen Airlines continues to enhance its offerings.

Looking ahead, Xiamen Airlines plans to leverage its global network to showcase exquisite catering services at high altitudes while celebrating global cultural harmony.
