Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is preparing for a busy winter holiday travel season, expecting to serve over 3.2 million passengers from December 19 through January 2, 2025. Peak travel days are anticipated on December 21, 27, and 30, as well as January 2.

Doug Webster, Chief Operations and Maintenance Officer at Los Angeles World Airports, stated: “The holidays at LAX are always a busy time for everyone at the airport, but we are prepared and well-equipped to manage the surge in passengers and the travel rush." He added that enhancements like expanded terminals and streamlined security operations aim to ensure a smooth experience for travelers.

LAX has introduced various measures to accommodate increased demand. These include expanded dining options and new destinations. Travelers are advised to plan ahead by checking flight statuses before arriving at the airport. Real-time traffic and parking updates can be accessed via @FlyLAXstats on X (formerly Twitter). The airport offers two cell phone waiting lots for drivers picking up passengers.

For quicker navigation through TSA checkpoints, LAX recommends enrolling in trusted-traveler programs such as TSA Pre√ or Global Entry. Additionally, ticketed passengers can access all terminals post-security to explore diverse food offerings including new options like CAVA and Pizza Please in Terminal 3.

To enhance passenger comfort during their journey, LAX provides unique amenities such as the Gameway arcade in Terminals 3 and 6. The Art Program features temporary and permanent installations by local artists throughout the airport. Therapy dogs from the PUPS Program offer comfort to travelers in departure areas.

Musically inclined visitors can play Kawai pianos located in Terminal B near gate 201A and Terminal 7 beyond TSA checkpoints.

For more information on flights, parking reservations, dining options, lost items or other inquiries, resources such as the LAX Main Site or FlyLAX Stats provide comprehensive details.
