Singapore Airlines has established a new benchmark in ultra-long-haul air travel with its non-stop flights from Singapore Changi Airport to New York City. These services, among the longest in the world, eliminate the need for a stopover on trips between the US East Coast and Singapore.

The airline offers flights to two New York airports: John F Kennedy International (JFK) and Newark Liberty International (EWR). The route to JFK is 9,487 miles long, slightly longer than the 9,484-mile journey to Newark. Both routes are operated daily, with flight SQ24 departing Singapore at 12:15 local time for JFK and arriving at 17:25 on the same day. The return flight SQ23 departs at 22:00 local time and lands at 06:00 two days later. Meanwhile, flight SQ21 leaves for Newark at 00:40, arriving at 05:30 after a block time of 17 hours and 50 minutes. Its return leg, SQ22, departs Newark at 09:35 and reaches Singapore the next day at 17:15.

Singapore Airlines' A350-900ULR aircraft used on these routes have no economy class seats. Passengers can choose between premium economy and business class cabins. The aircraft are configured with just 161 seats—94 premium economy recliners and 67 business class flatbeds.

These flights take different paths depending on their direction. Flights from Singapore to New York cross the Pacific Ocean and the US before reaching their destination from the west. On return journeys to Singapore, they fly over the North Atlantic, Europe, and the Middle East.

The Airbus A350-900ULR planes have been specifically modified for these ultra-long-haul routes with increased fuel capacity and aerodynamic improvements like extended winglets. Singapore Airlines operates seven of these aircraft.

For those seeking a more economical option or wishing to break up their journey, Singapore Airlines also provides one-stop flights to New York via Frankfurt using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft configured in four classes.
