Emirates, the largest international airline globally, is set to increase its service between Colombo and Dubai starting January 2, 2025. This move will see an additional scheduled flight, EK654/655, enhancing seat capacity on the route by 30%. The decision aligns with Sri Lanka's aim to significantly boost tourist arrivals in the coming year.

The new service will operate six times a week until March 31, 2025. Flight EK654 will leave Dubai International Airport at 10:05 AM daily except Wednesdays and arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake at 4:00 PM local time. The return flight, EK655, is scheduled to depart from BIA at 10:05 PM and reach Dubai at 1:05 AM the following day. Starting April 1, a seventh weekly flight on Wednesdays will be added with slight adjustments in departure times.

The additional flights can accommodate up to 360 passengers across First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class seats. Emirates currently operates two direct flights between Colombo and Dubai alongside a third daily service via Male.
