The beginning of a new year marks the renewal of certain American Express shopping credits, providing opportunities for cardholders to make purchases with potentially no out-of-pocket costs. These credits are available on The Platinum Card from American Express and The Business Platinum Card from American Express, specifically for Saks Fifth Avenue and Dell purchases.

Cardholders of the Amex Platinum can receive up to $100 in annual statement credits for Saks Fifth Avenue purchases. This is divided into two periods: up to $50 in credits from January to June and another $50 from July to December. Enrollment is necessary before making any purchases.

Similarly, the Amex Business Platinum offers up to $400 in annual statement credits for Dell purchases within the U.S., also requiring prior enrollment. The benefit is distributed as up to $200 in credits for each half of the year. Notably, this benefit is set to expire on June 30, 2025, unless renewed by American Express.

These benefits provide an incentive for cardholders to utilize their shopping portals and maximize rewards through additional points or cash back options.

The renewed shopping credits underscore a reminder that these are "use it or lose it" benefits which do not carry over beyond their designated periods within the calendar year.
