In the past week, several airlines have launched or resumed routes to various destinations. Among them, Air Serbia has initiated a twice-weekly service from Belgrade to Shanghai using its A330-200 aircraft. The inaugural flight took place on January 11. "For connectivity reasons, Air Serbia's Shanghai schedule is very similar to that of its other Chinese route, Guangzhou," the airline stated. This new route comes after Air Serbia ended flights to Tianjin in November 2024.

Alaska Airlines also commenced operations on ten new routes this month, including Boise to Orlando, which started on January 8. This marks the first time the two cities have been connected with non-stop service. Flights operate thrice weekly using a Boeing 737-900ER.

ITA Airways has become the first EU flag carrier since Libya's civil war to launch flights between Rome Fiumicino and Tripoli’s Migita airport as of January 12. The twice-weekly service aims to cater primarily to local traffic and passengers connecting across Europe.
