Xiamen Airlines has launched a new daily route connecting Beijing Daxing International Airport and Wattay International Airport in Vientiane. The inaugural flight, MF8721, landed in Vientiane on December 15, 2024, marking the beginning of this service.

On the day of the first flight, Xiamen Airlines organized an event at the boarding gate to engage passengers with trivia about Vientiane. Ms. Wang, a passenger on the inaugural flight, expressed her surprise and delight at learning interesting facts about Vientiane before departure and receiving a commemorative gift.

The new route features a daily schedule with Flight MF8721 departing from Beijing Daxing at 7:45 AM Beijing time and arriving in Vientiane at 11:10 AM local time. The return flight, MF8722, leaves Vientiane at 12:10 PM local time and reaches Beijing by 4:55 PM Beijing time. This service is currently the only daily flight connecting northern China to Laos.

Vientiane is known for its rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks such as Wat Si Muang, Wat Si Saket, and Patuxai Victory Monument. The launch coincides with the 15th anniversary of the strategic partnership between China and Laos and supports China's "Belt and Road" initiative by enhancing exchanges in tourism, trade, and personnel between the two nations.

Passengers flying to Vientiane can benefit from through check-in services for domestic destinations served by Xiamen Airlines at Daxing International Airport. Additionally, travelers purchasing tickets for flights from or to Beijing Daxing can redeem Egret Points for a one-way ticket on the Daxing International Airport Line with a discount option available.
