Emirates Boeing 777-300ER | Emirates

Emirates is set to resume its flights to Beirut, Lebanon, and Baghdad, Iraq, starting February 1. The airline will operate daily services to both cities using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Emirates announced this decision as tensions in the Middle East have started to decrease.

The airline will deploy its three-class 777-300ERs for the Beirut route, offering a total of 5,000 seats each week between the Lebanese capital and Dubai International Airport. Emirates plans to add a second daily flight to Beirut beginning April 1. This additional service will depart from Dubai at 7:30 AM local time.

Emirates has several configurations for its 777-300ER fleet. Two-class models accommodate either 427 or 442 passengers, while three-class versions can carry between 354 and 364 travelers. The first refurbished aircraft from Emirates' retrofit program entered service in August 2024.

Data from Cirium's Diio Mi tool shows that since 2023, Emirates has operated flights to five destinations within the Levant region: Amman, Baghdad, Basra, Beirut, and Tel Aviv. However, flights to Baghdad and Beirut were suspended in October and November of last year.

In parallel developments in the region, peace agreements involving Israel have allowed airlines like Delta Air Lines and European carriers such as British Airways and Lufthansa Group to announce plans for resuming flights to Israel soon.
