Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has recently completed a significant community support initiative in Malaysia. Over 800 team members from the global express transportation company dedicated more than 1,000 volunteer hours to collect and donate over 3,600 kilograms of essential supplies. These efforts benefited over 1,650 individuals, including young children, the elderly, and underserved groups through collaboration with more than 20 non-profit organizations.

In Malaysia, FedEx partnered with Shelter Home for Children during the holiday season. Seventeen team members collected over 107 kilograms of items such as packaged food, toys, and daily necessities like soap and toothpaste. These were delivered to the shelter to support children and marginalized communities.

The donations were part of the annual FedEx Cares Purple Tote Campaign, which ran from October to December 31, 2024. The campaign empowered FedEx team members across eleven markets in the region to support local NGOs. Participants included countries such as Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

This year’s campaign saw FedEx teams unite across regions to make meaningful contributions. Team members supported various causes by gathering essential items like food packages and hygiene kits for delivery in FedEx Cares purple tote bags. Beneficiaries included young children and underserved groups who received these donations.

Kawal Preet, President of FedEx Asia Pacific expressed her enthusiasm: “At FedEx we know that building real connections and making a difference in our communities is at the heart of what we do... It makes me incredibly proud to see our team members step up and support those in need.”

Tien Long Woon, managing director of FedEx Malaysia added: “We are committed to making a meaningful impact by addressing the challenges faced by our local communities... It is inspiring to see our team members come together to help these children.”

FedEx Cares encourages global participation in volunteering throughout the year under its ‘Drive forward. Give back’ initiative. In FY24 alone, FedEx contributed $55 million globally towards charitable programs supporting various causes.
