Ethiopian Airlines celebrated the Chinese New Year 2025 with events aimed at strengthening connections with Chinese communities globally. The airline, known for its rapid growth and significant presence in Africa, emphasized its commitment to honoring Chinese traditions.

Group CEO Mesfin Tasew expressed enthusiasm for the celebrations, stating, "At Ethiopian Airlines, we are thrilled to celebrate the Chinese New Year in a vibrant and meaningful way with the Chinese community and valued customers. This celebration is our way of honoring the unique traditions and rich cultural heritage of the Chinese people."

Ethiopian Airlines has a long-standing relationship with China, being the first African airline to offer direct flights to the country since 1973. Currently, it operates over 35 passenger flights weekly to major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Hong Kong. Its cargo services extend to eight additional cities.
