Ethiopian Airlines, recognized as Africa's largest airline and a rapidly expanding global brand, has announced the initiation of a new passenger service to Hyderabad, India. This service will operate three times a week starting June 16, 2025. The new route reflects Ethiopian Airlines' strategy to broaden its international network and improve connectivity between Africa and Asia.

Flights from Addis Ababa to Hyderabad are scheduled for mid-day departures on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Return flights from Hyderabad to Addis Ababa will arrive in the morning on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, stated, “We are delighted to commence a new passenger service to Hyderabad. Since our first flight to Mumbai, India, in 1971, we have expanded our footprint throughout the country... This new service will not only enhance travel options for our esteemed passengers but also strengthen trade and tourism ties between the two countries and beyond."

Currently offering over fifty weekly flights to Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Chennai, Ethiopian Airlines aims to reinforce its presence in India with this new route. The airline seeks to provide more travel alternatives for passengers within the region.

Ethiopian Airlines boasts seventy-eight years of operations with a reputation for efficiency and operational success. It operates a modern fleet across five continents including Boeing 737s, 777s, 787s; Airbus A350-900; A350-1000; and De Havilland Q400 aircraft.
