Starlux Airlines, known for its luxury offerings, is expanding its U.S. operations by adding a new route from Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport to Ontario International Airport in Southern California. This service will commence on June 2 and will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Flights from Ontario are scheduled to depart at 11:10 p.m., arriving two days later at 4:15 a.m. local time. The return flights from Taipei take off at 8:05 p.m., landing the same day at 5:05 p.m. Introductory round-trip fares start at approximately $1,300 for economy class and can reach nearly $6,000 for business class.

Starlux has made saver award availability accessible for this route in business class through the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan program. For a limited time, up to two seats were available per flight from July through October using mileage redemptions.

The airline will use its Airbus A350-900 aircraft for this route, featuring various seating options including first-class suites and business-class pods.

Starlux already operates flights from Taipei to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle. The addition of Ontario expands its reach within the U.S., targeting Southern California's significant Taiwanese population.

According to Cirium schedules, China Airlines also offers daily flights between Ontario and Taipei. Starlux aims to capitalize on point-to-point traffic as well as provide connections throughout Asia via its hub in Taipei.

"Ontario might not've been the city that you'd expect Starlux to launch next," but it aligns with their strategy given the local demographics and existing connectivity.
