Porter Airlines is set to introduce a new seasonal route between Montreal and Newark starting June 1, 2025. This move aims to enhance its connectivity in the New York area. The flights will be operated using De Havilland Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft. Initially, there will be one daily flight, increasing to two during the peak summer season from June 15 to September 7.
Andrew Pierce, Porter's vice president of network planning and reporting, emphasized the importance of Newark Airport within their network since launching the Billy Bishop-Newark service in 2008. He stated: "Adding a nonstop route to Montréal will make the New York area even more accessible for our passengers, giving them more options to choose from when planning their trips to the Empire State."
The schedule includes departures from Montréal Trudeau Airport (YUL) at various times throughout the week and peak season adjustments for increased frequency. Porter Airlines already operates services connecting Newark with Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Ottawa International Airport.
