Dalmatian travels business class on Singapore Airlines | Official Website

A Dalmatian was recently seen traveling in the business class cabin of a Singapore Airlines flight to Japan. The journey was documented on social media by the Instagram account "spottytheswissdalmatian," showing the dog enjoying the airline's lounge and relaxing during the five-hour flight.

Spotty, as the Dalmatian is named, is a fully registered service dog. According to Singapore Airlines' policy, only fully vaccinated, government-certified service dogs are allowed in the cabin. Other pets must travel as checked baggage or cargo. Passengers with pets must prepare necessary documents for a smooth journey. The airline permits cats and dogs but not prohibited breeds or pregnant animals.

This sighting follows news about Bark Air, a private charter airline for dogs that launched in May 2024. Bark Air provides a 100% dog-friendly experience using Gulfstream G5s and G4s. "BARK Air is here to deliver a truly 100% dog friendly airline," states their website.

The first Bark Air flight traveled from New York City to Los Angeles, featuring various breeds onboard without incident. Katharine Enos, Bark's Chief of Staff, commented: "There were a mix of breeds onboard including chihuahuas, a golden retriever and dachshunds... All dogs snacked on BARK cereal treats for dogs..."

Bark Air offers seamless travel for pets and owners with quick check-in and no crates or long lines required. Currently serving metro areas like New York City, Los Angeles, London, and Paris, it faces competition from companies like VistaJet offering similar pet services.
