Delta Air Lines Airbus A350-900 | Delta Air Lines

Delta Air Lines continues to utilize its Airbus A350-900 fleet as a cornerstone of its international operations. The airline currently operates 35 A350s, with plans to expand this number significantly in the coming years. These aircraft have been deployed on routes covering nearly 20 international destinations.

Atlanta remains Delta's largest hub for A350 flights, with the airline operating 526 flights from this location in February alone. This includes routes to major cities such as Seoul, Johannesburg, and Tokyo. "Atlanta is also home to Delta’s two longest flights, the A350 routes to Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa," notes the airline.

Los Angeles serves as Delta's main transpacific gateway, with 348 A350 flights scheduled for February. The focus here is on long-haul routes to destinations like Sydney and Auckland. Lorie Argus, CEO of Melbourne Airport, commented on a new service: “We see it as a tremendous vote of confidence in Victoria's economy."

In Detroit, Delta has scheduled 246 A350 flights for February, connecting to cities including Seoul and Shanghai. Minneapolis has a smaller operation with just 88 flights but plans are underway to expand services.

Notably absent from Delta's current A350 operations are several hubs including New York JFK and Boston. However, future expansions could change this landscape as more aircraft join the fleet.

Delta is also planning upgrades for its existing A350s to standardize the cabin experience across all aircraft. The arrival of new A350-1000s next year will further enhance their capabilities. "Top of its list is a return to India," states Delta regarding future route plans.

The airline's strategic partnerships are also expected to play a role in expanding its reach. "Expect to see Delta utilize the A350-1000s on flights to Saudi Arabia," reflecting their partnership with Riyadh Air.
