Bombardier has reached a significant milestone by delivering its 1,000th super-midsize business jet. The delivery was made to JM Family Enterprises, who received the Challenger 3500 at Bombardier’s delivery center.

The achievement was celebrated with over 700 employees in attendance. During the ceremony, Bombardier highlighted the expertise and dedication that contributed to this moment.

During the event, ceremonial keys for the Challenger 3500 were handed over to the JM Family team. Bombardier noted that JM Family Enterprises has been a long-standing customer.

It holds even greater significance as we are celebrating with a client who shares our family values, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to the community. Challenger super-midsize aircraft have been game changers in the industry as they defined a new business jet segment, and we are excited to continue building on this legacy,” said Martel.

The Challenger 3500 model continues to be one of the best in its class and was noted as the most delivered super-midsized business jet in 2024. It offers comfort and luxury while maintaining low operating costs.

This delivery not only signifies Bombardier's success but also reinforces its market leadership position. The company competes with industry giants like Gulfstream, Embraer, and Dassault.

A Look Back at Bombardier’s History

Bombardier began as a snowmobile manufacturer in 1937 before entering into aviation in 1986 after purchasing Canadair.

The Challenger series started with Canadair's development under Bombardier's ownership. The first model,"Challenger300,"was introduced during Paris Air Show in1999and entered service by2004with Flexjet being its first operator.The price range for these jets today varies from$8 million-$14 million depending upon specifications.

Challenger350entered flight tests by2013 offering upgraded features such as larger windows improved avionics better performance than predecessors priced around$33million per unit.Currently,"Challenger3500"series introduced late2021includes advanced systems like autothrottle modern cabins designed longer-range travel capabilities
