Francis Kurkdjian, master perfumer and co-founder of Maison Francis Kurkdjian, said Air France's new fragrance, AF001, was crafted to evoke the sensation of flying. The airline introduced the scent in its Paris-Charles de Gaulle lounges on January 14, sharing the news on X.
"Collaborating with Air France, in my view, means working with a great icon of French luxury. It is a legendary brand, a mythical house," said Kurkdjian, Master Perfumer & Co-Founder. "Creating the scent of Air France was an obvious choice. AF001 is more of an impression—it captures a moment suspended in flight. The fragrance is very simple; it has a musky base. I combined it with mimosa, and then jasmine-derived molecules that create a soft, enveloping effect, like a breeze of flowers caressing the face."
Air France announced a collaboration with Kurkdjian to create an exclusive fragrance that embodies the elegance and refinement of French luxury. AF001 features a musky base, accented with mimosa and jasmine-derived molecules that offer a light, floral touch. The scent was designed to evoke a sense of purity, fresh air, and relaxation for travelers.
