As Lufthansa is the largest operator of passenger-configured 747-400s (it has eight) and 747-8is (19), it is unsurprising that it is by far the most dominant operator of the type to the US.
Examining planned schedules using Cirium Diio data shows the German giant will operate virtually three in four US passenger 747 flights (74%). This proportion rose from 66% last summer due to Korean Air having fewer 747 flights and Lufthansa having more. More on these developments below.
