At the end of February, Qantas unveiled new photos and video of its first Airbus A321XLR. The aircraft is making gradual progress towards entering service, with its airframe fully assembled but still lacking engines.

The Airbus A321XLR is a significant addition to Qantas' fleet, expected to offer improved range and fuel efficiency compared to previous models. This particular model represents a step forward in Qantas' strategy to modernize its fleet and expand its route capabilities.

Qantas has been eagerly anticipating the delivery of this aircraft, which is part of a larger order aimed at renewing their domestic and international fleets. The airline expects that the A321XLR will enable them to operate long- haul flights more economically, opening up new destinations and improving service on existing routes.

The assembly process for the A321XLR has been closely followed by aviation enthusiasts and industry experts alike. The recent photos indicate that while there is still work to be done before it can take to the skies, substantial progress has been made.

This development comes as part of Qantas' Project Sunrise initiative, which aims to introduce ultra-long-haul flights connecting cities like Sydney and Melbourne directly with destinations such as London and New York.
