In 2025, trijets continue to capture the interest of government officials, business corporations, and military forces due to their ability to take off from shorter runways and access more airports. These aircraft are favored for their safety features and exemption from Extended-range Twin-engine Operational Performance Standards (ETOPS) regulations. Notably, the Royal Australian Air Force and Indonesian Air Force utilize trijets for high-stakes missions.

Today, Dassault Aviation remains the sole manufacturer of superior business trijets with its Falcon 7X, 8X, and 900 models. These aircraft feature a central engine designed using "S-duct" technology—one of the most complex designs in aircraft engines. Other models like the Tu-154, DC-10, and MD-11 have seen limited production.

The Dassault Falcon 7X is renowned as one of the finest private jets globally, with prices starting at $55 million. It boasts a maximum speed of 685.08 MPH (1,102 km/h) and a range exceeding 5,950 nautical miles (6,847 mi or 11,020 km). According to Avbuyer, preowned Falcon 7X prices range between $15 million and $48 million depending on factors such as maintenance conditions and hours flown. Controller lists preowned prices between $19 million and $28 million.

"The true cost of owning a Falcon," said an industry expert regarding fixed operating costs.

Operating a trijet business jet involves additional costs categorized into fixed and variable expenses. Trijets tend to consume more fuel than twin- engine jets while routine inspections lead to higher maintenance costs. Fixed costs remain constant regardless of flight hours per year; these include financing fees, insurance premiums divided into hull insurance ($33,750) for aircraft value coverage plus liability insurance ($45), miscellaneous operational expenses totaling around twenty-seven thousand five hundred sixty- eight dollars annually among others."

"Exploring variable operating expenses," noted another analyst about financial expenditures fluctuating based on usage levels including fuel oil lubrication labor parts allowances periodic reserves landing parking navigation crew supplies catering etcetera all contributing towards effective budgetary management ensuring viability through informed decision-making optimizing cost efficiency accordingly ."
