Korean Air Boeing 787-10 | Official Website

On Tuesday, Korean Air unveiled its first new corporate identity in 41 years by pulling the curtain back on a gleaming Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner adorned with a bold and distinctive livery. The event took place in a Korean Air hangar in Seoul in front of more than 1,000 enthusiastic guests, including employees, industry leaders and international and domestic media.

A confident step forward for Korean Air

On March 11, 2025, Korean Air introduced its new corporate identity, revealing a modernized version of its signature Taegeuk symbol. The exclusive event, titled "Rising Night," was held at the airline's headquarters hangar at Seoul Gimpo International Airport (GMP) and followed a day of presentations unveiling more about the new corporate identity to selected media, including Simple Flying.

For many avid aviation enthusiasts, the most exciting part of the night was the unveiling of the new aircraft livery, which is a vast change from what the world has seen for decades. The 2024 Boeing 787 Dreamliner, registration HL8515 and MSN 66878, was hidden by a curtain, but that lifted to reveal the stunning new livery, showcased with a bold "KOREAN" logotype.

The Dreamliner is fitted with Korean Air's latest Prestige Suite 2.0 cabin interiors and is set to enter service on Tuesday, flying from Seoul Incheon International (ICN) to Tokyo Narita Airport (NRT). The modern design features an enlarged logo and symbol for greater visual impact while still maintaining the design's visual balance.

The bold KOREAN logotype symbolizes the airline's confidence in its role as South Korea's flagship carrier. The design retains Korean Air's signature sky- blue color, which has been lifted by using a newly developed paint for a metallic effect to enhance the carrier's premium image.

The new design has removed the traditional cheatline and replaced it with a smooth, flowing curve that sweeps across the fuselage, creating a more refined and contemporary look to the livery. A key element of the new corporate identity is the redesigned deep blue Taegeuk symbol, which reflects Korean Air's heritage while embracing the airline's national prestige with a refined visual identity.

The unified Korean Air has a new identity

Earlier in the day, Walter Cho, Chairman and CEO of Hanjin Group and Korean Air had shared his vision with international media; tonight he elaborated on that with an address to assembled crowd in hangar.
