JetBlue has embarked on a strategic expansion and modernization project at New York John F. Kennedy International Airport's Terminal 5. This initiative aims to increase flight availability and enhance the travel experience for all passengers.

The project is a collaboration with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, as well as FraportUSA. The upgrades include 40 new concessions and amenities for passengers, art installations, and a center concourse inspired by New York’s iconic parks.

"When it opened, Terminal 5 set a new standard for customer-focused airport design that reflected our mission of bringing humanity back to air travel," said Marty St. George, President of JetBlue. "Now, in support of the Port Authority’s plan to redevelop JFK, we look forward to further enhancing the experience for all who travel through this world-class terminal. "

One notable feature of the redesign is a brand-new green space equipped with trees, plants, park benches, concrete chess tables, and warm lighting to evoke the charm of city parks.

The concourse gallery will display at least 30 artworks by New York City-

based artists. "Great works of public art are a signature part of our strategy to build new, world-class airport terminals," said Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton.

The functional redesign aims to streamline flow within Terminal 5 with improved signage, security checkpoints, baggage handling systems, and advanced technology reducing congestion and wait times.

"This historic investment to modernize JFK Airport... will ensure JFK joins the ranks as one of the finest airports in the world," said New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Expanded dining options include both international brands and local favorites such as Eataly, Shake Shack, Serafina among others. "Together we share a bold vision," said Sabine Trenk CEO of Fraport USA.

Local businesses will also have opportunities under federal programs aimed at driving economic growth while representing local culture."The historic $19 billion redevelopment...continues paying incredible dividends," noted Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr..

"I am thrilled see this transformative project take flight," added US Representative Gregory Meeks from New York.
