Boeing Business Jets (BBJ), established in 1996, is a division of Boeing Commercial Airplanes that offers business jet variants derived from its commercial aircraft lineup. These aircraft provide luxury, space, and range, making them popular among heads of state, corporations, and private high-net- worth individuals seeking exceptional comfort and performance. The BBJ lineup includes both narrow and wide-body aircraft, each with a unique history and clientele. This article explores different Boeing Business Jets.

Inception and evolution

The concept of BBJ originated from a collaboration between Boeing's then- president, Phil Condit, and General Electric's Chairman and CEO, Jack Welch. Their vision was to create a long-range business jet based on the Boeing 737- 700 platform. The first BBJ (later renamed the BBJ1) was designed in 1996 as a high-performance derivative of the Boeing 737 Next Generation by Borge Boeskov, who became the first president of the Boeing Business Jets department. This collaboration led to the rollout of the first 737 BBJ on July 26, 1998, with its maiden flight following on September 4, 1998.
