Next year, Hilton will hit the slopes with the opening of a new Canopy hotel in the popular ski resort area of Deer Valley near Park City, Utah.

The 180-room Canopy by Hilton at Deer Valley is scheduled to open next summer ahead of ski season. It will be themed around the region's transition from an old silver mining area to a world-class ski destination.

During ski season, this Canopy will offer "effortless ski access," according to a statement from Hilton. This includes a ski locker room as well as "a lively apres-ski experience. "

But you don't have to love winter sports to enjoy this year-round hotel, which offers a pool and hot tub, a sauna and steam room, a fitness center, and a golf simulator.

Details of the hotel's restaurant and bar offerings are slim for now, but it will include a signature restaurant, an apres-ski lounge, a coffee shop with grab-and-go offerings, and a rooftop lounge.

The Canopy by Hilton at Deer Valley is just one of many new hotels emerging in Deer Valley East Village—a significant development featuring shops, restaurants, residential units, and year-round recreation.

Last year, Hyatt opened the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley. Four Seasons will also open a luxury resort with residences in the near future.

Since 1981, Deer Valley has remained a ski-only resort.
