Allure of the Seas, a prominent cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean, is undergoing an extensive refurbishment as it approaches its 15th anniversary. The project, which costs over $100 million, includes a new paint job and various upgrades. When Allure of the Seas first launched in 2010 as part of Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class, it featured numerous attractions such as bars, restaurants, surf simulators, and an AquaTheater.

The current renovation at Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain introduces successful concepts from other ships in the fleet. New additions include a Playmakers sports bar, Pesky Parrot and The Lime & Coconut bars, The Mason Jar Southern comfort food restaurant, The Perfect Storm waterslides, and a 10-deck Ultimate Abyss dry slide. Additionally, 30 cabins have been added to increase passenger capacity to 5,718 people.

Upon completion in April 2025, Allure of the Seas will embark on European voyages for the summer season with seven-night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona. In November 2025, it will reposition to Fort Lauderdale's Port Everglades for six- to eight-night cruises in the Caribbean.

Several spaces on the ship are being transformed or updated during this refurbishment. For example:

- "The Pesky Parrot" will replace the Champagne Bar on Deck 5.

- "Playmakers sports bar" will take over Sabor's former location on Deck 6.

- "The Mason Jar" restaurant will occupy space previously used as a teen hangout on Deck 15.

- Two Panoramic Suites above the bridge offer expansive ocean views.

- An area known as Splashaway Bay has been introduced for children.

Other updates include relocating and refreshing various amenities such as lounges and clubs while adding new features like cabanas and hot tubs on Decks 15 and 16.

Ashley Kosciolek from The Points Guy provided insights into these developments during a tour of Allure of the Seas at its construction site.
