Dean Bracewell Independent Non-Executive Director (Appointed 20 April 2020) | Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand is partnering with several India-based technology firms to drive digital innovation and enhance its services. This collaboration aims to position the airline as a leader in adopting advanced digital solutions, benefiting not only the airline but also the wider aviation and tourism industries.

Nikhil Ravishankar, Chief Digital Officer of Air New Zealand, highlighted the collaborative efforts with Indian partners to develop innovative solutions that improve efficiency and customer experience while shaping the future of travel. "India has long invested in education and digital innovation, and we're now seeing these investments pay dividends for the global technology sector," he stated. The airline is working closely with TCS, IBS Software, TSI, Cognizant, and Accenture on various projects designed to transform customer outcomes.

Ravishankar emphasized a strong cultural alignment between India and New Zealand. He noted that both nations prioritize innovation and leverage technology to address unique challenges. "That common DNA of innovation makes collaboration a no-brainer," he added.

The partnerships aim to move beyond traditional engagement models by co-creating industry-leading solutions rather than focusing solely on transactional software development. Air New Zealand has worked with its Indian partners on projects such as new digital platforms for cargo customers, re-platforming its loyalty program, and ongoing digitization efforts in flight operations and maintenance.

The integration of teams from TCS, IBS Software, TSI, Cognizant, and Accenture into Air New Zealand's operations allows for faster decision-making and dynamic innovation. This approach helps keep the airline at the forefront of technological advancements while providing an adaptive environment for partners to build and test new solutions.

"For our partners, New Zealand offers a unique opportunity to test, refine, and deploy digital solutions at scale," Ravishankar said. The collaborations are not just commercially driven but also aim at pioneering new approaches with global applicability.

By collaborating with top technology teams in India, Air New Zealand seeks to redefine possibilities in aviation technology. The goal is to ensure that both customers and the broader industry benefit from cutting-edge digital innovations.

The airline remains dedicated to creating seamless travel experiences for customers worldwide.
