Ethiopian Airlines has announced the official launch of a global cabin crew training program by Ethiopian Aviation University. The announcement was made on March 6 via the social media platform X.

According to Ethiopian Aviation University, the Cabin Crew Training Program is designed to equip students with skills necessary for ensuring passenger safety, comfort, and well-being during flights. Graduates are trained in providing customer service, delivering safety instructions, assisting with boarding, serving meals, and addressing passenger needs. The program also prepares students to handle emergencies such as medical situations, evacuations, and turbulence with expertise in first aid, fire safety, and aircraft safety systems.

Ethiopian Airlines operates the youngest fleet in Africa, comprising 159 aircraft currently in service. This includes a variety of models such as Airbus A350-1000s and Boeing B787-8s. The modern fleet offers cabin crew trainees exposure to diverse aircraft types, enhancing their adaptability and proficiency.

The airline has outlined an ambitious growth strategy under its Vision 2035 plan. It aims to expand its fleet to over 250 aircraft and currently has 37 aircraft on order. This expansion reflects Ethiopian Airlines' commitment to increasing its global presence and operational capacity.

As the flag carrier of Ethiopia and Africa's largest airline by fleet size, destinations, and passengers carried, Ethiopian Airlines operates flights to over 150 domestic and international destinations across five continents. Its main hub is at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. The airline has been a member of Star Alliance since 2011.
