Hector Nazario, the husband of Kenia Nazario, who is employed at Flying Food Group (FFG), expressed concerns about the union Unite Here. He said that the union is protecting individuals who have been terminated for "abusive behavior and bad manners." This statement was made during a Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) meeting on March 13.

"They say Flying Food is protecting sexual harassment people… but how can you call somebody that is being terminated for mistreating coworkers protected by them," said Nazario, Speaker at LAWA Meeting. "They've been laid off for abusive behavior and bad manners."

Flying Food Group, a prominent airline catering company, recently terminated longtime employee Roberto Muñoz following an internal investigation that found he violated the company's harassment policies. According to previous reports by Sky Industry News, three female employees—Kenia Nazario, Johana Vásquez, and Perla Luna—accused Muñoz of verbal harassment, retaliation, and fostering a hostile work environment. Despite these allegations, Unite Here Local 11, which represents FFG workers, is advocating for his reinstatement. The women allege that Muñoz used his influence to intimidate them and retaliated against those who rejected his advances.

At the LAWA meeting on March 13, Michelle Aguayo, Human Resources Manager at FFG, said: "We terminated two employees in the past eight months for sexual harassment after receiving credible complaints. Disappointingly, Unite Here disregarded these complaints and grossly tried to reinstate their harassers."

In a previous LAWA Board of Commissioners meeting, Muñoz did not address the harassment claims directly. Instead, according to Sky Industry News, he suggested that his termination was retaliatory due to his union activities and claimed that FFG fired him to suppress worker opposition. His accusers argue that the union is defending a predator rather than supporting victims. Vásquez said: "The union is defending a predator, and it’s not fair to those of us who suffered because of him."

Nazario told Sky Industry News: "What the union is doing now feels like revenge for what happened with Roberto. It’s gotten to the point where they’re even making up this story that the supervisor harassed them."

Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) oversees operations at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Van Nuys Airport (VNY). According to LAWA.org, it manages airport operations, development, and infrastructure to support regional and global air travel.
