SAS has announced an expansion of its summer routes, adding 28 new flights from key Scandinavian airports in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm. This expansion began on March 30 and will run until October. SAS introduced 22 new routes between March 30 and July 1, with destinations including Beirut, Seattle, and Seoul from Copenhagen.

"The expanded summer program reinforces Copenhagen Airport as a global hub for seamless international travel to and from Northern Europe. Its strategic location ensures smooth, efficient connections for passengers traveling across the region or to and from the rest of the world,” the airline said.

In addition to new routes from Copenhagen, SAS will launch flights from Stockholm-Arlanda to Beirut, Bodø, and Keflavík, with each route being twice-weekly. From Oslo-Gardermoen, flights to Rhodes and New York JFK are planned, and from Bergen, there will be twice-weekly flights to Málaga.

Speaking about the plans, Henrik Winell, Vice President of Network at SAS, stated, "By broadening our network and optimizing travel options, we will provide our customers with unparalleled access to destinations across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, while continuing to consolidate Copenhagen’s role as a European world-class travel hub."

Data from Cirium's Diio Mi airline planning tool shows SAS's North American schedule will grow to 89 weekly departures this July, compared to 81 the previous year. This includes new routes like Oslo to New York-JFK, and new flights from Copenhagen to Washington Dulles and Toronto Pearson.

Contrastingly, SAS has removed flights from Copenhagen to New York-JFK, Oslo to Newark Liberty, and the seasonal route from Stockholm-Arlanda to Toronto-Pearson.
