According to Reuters, ITA Airways resumed flights between Rome and Tel Aviv on February 1, 2025, after a four-month suspension due to conflicts in the Middle East. This resumption followed a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, leading several European airlines to restore connections to the region.
As reported by Reuters, ITA Airways resumed direct flights from Rome to Tripoli in January 2025 after a ten-year hiatus caused by Libya's civil war. Operating two flights weekly between Rome's Fiumicino Airport and Tripoli's Mitiga Airport, this move marked the first major Western European airline to re-establish such a route since 2014. Despite ongoing political instability in Libya, a 2020 ceasefire has facilitated the return of some airlines.
