Yesterday, Lufthansa City Airlines received its first Airbus A320neo at the Airbus facility in Hamburg-Finkenwerder. The aircraft, registered D-AIJP and named "Ingelheim am Rhein," symbolizes the airline's key role in transforming continental traffic to and from Munich, and in 2026, Frankfurt hubs. The new aircraft supports the Lufthansa Group's efforts to boost the competitiveness of its short-haul network and promote growth on long-haul routes.

Peter Albers, Managing Director of Lufthansa City Airlines, commented, "Our new aircraft is a further motivation and incentive for the commitment and excellent work of all our employees, who contribute to the success and growth of our airline every day."

Starting in May, the "Juliett Papa" will accommodate up to 180 passengers and is equipped with the new Airspace cabin, offering larger overhead bins, modern lighting, and improved seating comfort in line with Lufthansa standards.

As its fleet expands, Lufthansa City Airlines is also growing its European route network, adding seven new destinations for the summer 2025 schedule: Barcelona, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Düsseldorf, Rome, Edinburgh, Seville, and Bordeaux.
