The search for the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has been delayed once again due to adverse weather conditions. Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that the mission will not resume until the end of the year.

In a recording shared with AFP, Loke confirmed, "They have stopped the operation for the time being, they will resume the search at the end of this year." He added at an event at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, "Right now, it's not the season."

Flight MH370 vanished on March 8, 2014, during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 passengers and crew onboard. Despite extensive efforts, its whereabouts remain unknown.

After prolonged delays, Malaysia finalized an agreement with British firm Ocean Infinity to restart the search. The focus is a 15,000 square kilometer area off Perth, Australia, based on new data.

Ocean Infinity operates under a "no-find, no-fee" plan, with a $70 million fee if the wreckage is discovered. The firm's vessel, Armada 7806, began operations earlier this year but had to pause due to worsening sea conditions.

This search follows an international effort coordinated by Malaysia, Australia, and China, covering 120,000 square kilometers, which yielded minimal results.

Transport Minister Loke expressed uncertainty about the outcome, stating, "Whether or not it will be found will be subject to the search—nobody can anticipate."

Families of MH370 victims, like Kelvin Shim, remain hopeful, despite the wait. Shim stated, "We’ve waited more than 11 years—what’s a few more months? I can still wait."

The delayed response has raised questions about government urgency in resolving this ongoing mystery.
