Allegiant Air has announced the opening of a new aircraft observation area at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. The announcement was shared in a post on X on April 2.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) unveiled this new observation deck on March 12, 2025. The deck, measuring 825 square feet, features shaded seating, improved lighting, landscaping, and a speaker system broadcasting live Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic communications. This development transformed a previously unpaved area into a dedicated space for plane spotting, reflecting the airport's commitment to community engagement.

The $2.3 million observation area project was a collaborative effort between the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority and Manatee County, as reported by the Tampa Bay Times. The facility includes a paved parking lot with 27 spaces, accommodating visitors who previously watched planes from grassy areas near the airport fence. The addition of the observation deck provides a safer and more comfortable environment for the public to enjoy aircraft operations.

An Allegiant-themed playground is part of the new observation area, offering children an interactive aviation experience. The playground features a mini aircraft structure, allowing young visitors to engage in imaginative play while learning about aviation. This initiative aligns with Allegiant Air's focus on community involvement and enhancing the travel experience for families.
