San Bernardino International Airport has announced that U.S. citizens can now renew their passports online through the U.S. Department of State's website, providing a faster and more convenient option. This announcement was shared in a March 27 post on X.

According to the U.S. Department of State, the new online passport renewal system allows eligible U.S. citizens to renew their passports without mailing physical documents. Applicants can complete the process by creating an account on the MyTravelGov website, filling out the application, and uploading a digital photo. This initiative is designed to streamline the renewal process and reduce processing times.

As reported by Time magazine, the online renewal service is available 24/7 and is designed to save time and effort for users. To be eligible, applicants must have a passport valid for ten years, be at least 25 years old, and reside in the United States. Additionally, they must not need to travel within eight weeks of applying.

According to Condé Nast Traveler, as of October 2024, U.S. passport processing times have improved significantly, reducing to 4-6 weeks from the previous 6-8 weeks. Expedited service remains at 2-3 weeks. The online renewal option contributes to these reduced processing times, making it an ideal time for travelers to renew their passports.

San Bernardino International Airport (SBD) serves the Inland Empire region, providing domestic and international travel options. The airport offers low-cost parking at $5 per day and features modern terminals with amenities designed to accommodate thousands of daily passengers. SBD aims to provide a convenient and efficient travel experience for its passengers.
