Gulfstream G650ER | Official Website

Billionaire and former Microsoft Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Steve Ballmer owns a Gulfstream G650ER private jet. The aircraft, identifiable by registration N709NS, is a 2017 model with serial number 6285 and comes at a cost of $78 million. Although Ballmer is the main operator, it is registered under CBAIR LLC in Seattle.

The Gulfstream G650ER provides Ballmer and his companions with significant travel flexibility and convenience, offering a range of 7,500 nautical miles, allowing nonstop flights of 12-14 hours. The Celebrity Private Jet Tracker reports that Ballmer uses this jet frequently for both domestic and international travel, with stops at airports such as Los Angeles International (LAX), King County International (BFI), Paris-Le Bourget (LBG), and Edinburgh Airport (EDI).

The G650ER is one of Gulfstream Aerospace’s top sellers. Gulfstream states, “With more than 500 aircraft in service and 125-plus world speed records, the G650 and G650ER are among the most trusted business jets in the world. (...) The G650ER holds the record for the farthest, fastest flight in business aviation history.”

Ballmer's utilization of the jet includes a series of recent flights between April 1 and April 6, all domestic, with durations ranging from one to three hours for each journey.

Gulfstream Aerospace highlights the G650ER's performance and reliability, noting, “Pairing Gulfstream’s aerodynamic wing and advanced avionics with Rolls-Royce engines, the clean-sheet design of the G650 and G650ER represents a bold leap ahead in high-speed efficiency and fuel economy." The spacious interior is designed to provide a getaway above the clouds, featuring a clean air system that circulates fresh air every few minutes. The jet accommodates up to 19 passengers, with sleeping arrangements for up to 10.

Ballmer's extensive travels are partly due to his engagement in business activities after retiring from Microsoft, including his ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA. The luxurious G650ER supports these activities with an environment conducive for business meetings.

Many major domestic airports have seen Ballmer’s jet recently, such as Los Angeles International, King County International, and others. International trips have taken the aircraft to destinations including North Eleuthera Airport in the Bahamas and Paris-Le Bourget in France.
