The Atlanta Hawks, a long-established team in the National Basketball Association (NBA), have announced a new partnership with Wheels Up, a prominent private jet provider. This partnership integrates the Wheels Up brand into the State Farm Arena, the home of the Hawks, with a unique private entrance planned for players, coaching staff, and select members during events.

Andrew Saltzman, the President of the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Wheels Up. It is paramount for our organization that we continue to elevate the incredible experience we provide our most premium members and partners, and aligning with a world-class brand like Wheels Up to provide this exclusive access was a natural fit."

Wheels Up is a major player in the private aviation industry, ranking as the fourth-largest operator of private jets in the United States by 2024, with around 96,000 departures recorded that year. The company has a significant presence in Atlanta, making this partnership a strategic move for both entities. Kristen Lauria, Wheels Up's Chief Customer and Marketing Officer, emphasized their shared vision, stating, "We are proud to partner with the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena, and this newly branded exclusive entrance reflects our commitment to delivering unforgettable events and offerings for our clients. Aligning with a premier sports and entertainment leader in Atlanta is a natural extension of our dedication to providing unparalleled access—both in the air and on the ground."

The collaboration also includes plans for an annual event for Hawks Season Ticket owners, offering them opportunities to engage with the community and explore Wheels Up's travel solutions.

Wheels Up, founded by Kenny Dichter in 2013, initially operated with a fleet of Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft. The company has expanded significantly, acquiring multiple aviation businesses and growing its fleet to over 150 aircraft. Despite financial struggles in recent years, including a significant loss in 2022, Wheels Up's partnership with Delta Air Lines has provided stability. Delta increased its stake to 95% in 2023, helping to guide Wheels Up through its financial challenges.

This partnership with the Atlanta Hawks expands the offerings and visibility of Wheels Up, aligning them with a prominent NBA team as private aviation continues to play a crucial role in professional sports logistics.
