Corsair International navigates a unique operational space within the aviation industry, occupying a position neither as a full-service network carrier nor a low-cost airline. The French airline, headquartered in Rungis, Paris, operates primarily out of Paris Orly Airport. It flies to a range of destinations with a fleet of 9 Airbus A330-900 jets, focusing largely on long-haul leisure travel to Francophone regions.

The airline's ownership structure includes a majority stake by the German investment group Intro Aviation and a significant share held by the TUI Group. Corsair's remaining shares are owned by private investors.

Despite being established in 1981, Corsair has maintained a relatively low profile and is not widely recognized in regions such as North America. The airline originally operated under different names, including Corsairfly, before adopting its current brand. It serves 15 destinations and has narrowed its focus from past extensive operations in North America to specific markets in Africa, French overseas territories, and select leisure spots.

Corsair has modernized its fleet exclusively with A330-900 aircraft, optimizing fuel efficiency for long-haul routes. The airline's aircraft offer business, premium economy, and economy class seating, a setup atypical for low-cost carriers. Its strategic focus on less competitive markets underscores its niche approach.

Founded by the Rossi family and later acquired by Nouvelles Frontieres, the TUI Group's influence began in 2000, leading to strategic initiatives, fleet expansions, and rebranding efforts. Corsair has adapted its operational model over time, now primarily being likened to a francophone tour operator connecting Paris with underserved French-speaking destinations.

The airline's strategic decisions and fleet modernization reflect broader trends toward cost efficiency and market-specific operations, allowing it to maintain a distinct identity amid industry competition.
