Elton John, renowned British musician | Official Website

Sir Elton John, renowned British musician, travels in a Bombardier Global Express XRS private jet. The aircraft, registered as M-EDZE, helps him maintain his busy itinerary across continents. The new Global Express XRS is valued at approximately $55 million and supports Elton John and his entourage with a long-range capability.

"The Bombardier Global Express XRS is an ultra-long-range private jet designed and manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace. The Global Express XRS was introduced in 2003 as the successor to the Global Express, the first-in-the-line," according to Private Jet Card Comparisons.

Since its introduction in 2005, the Global Express XRS has become a significant asset in Bombardier's lineup, serving various high-profile clients and sectors. Its extended range allows non-stop flights of 10 to 12 hours, often across significant distances such as in Elton John's recent travels within Europe.

The jet's cabin accommodates up to 16 people and offers substantial baggage space, soundproofing, and mood lighting for a comfortable experience. It features in-flight entertainment, high-definition TV monitors, and advanced avionics.

"Two Rolls-Royce BR710-A2-20 engines offer 14,750 lbs each of thrust, allowing for a maximum cruise speed of 924 km/h (Mach 0.89) and a long-range speed of up to 904 km/h," noted Air Charter Service Canada.

Elton John's flight records show recent trips across several European cities, including London, Stockholm, and Nice. These flights highlight the jet's advanced design and fuel efficiency but also reflect its environmental impact, given the carbon emissions documented.

Bombardier stated the aircraft's design with modifications has served more than 100,000 hours in critical roles like the US Air Force's Battlefield Airborne Communications Node program. As Steve Patrick, Bombardier's Vice President of Specialized Aircraft, commented, “This 100,000-flight-hour milestone is a testament to the aircrafts’ performance and endurance, clearly demonstrating that the Global platform excels in demanding situations.”

While generally used only a handful of times by Elton John in the past year, the jet's travels span many regions and provide both convenience and efficiency.
