KLM has announced plans to resume flights to Barbados, re-establishing a route that previously operated until March 2023. The Dutch carrier will offer direct flights between Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and Bridgetown Grantley Adams International Airport starting October 26, 2025. This seasonal service will be available until March 26, 2026, utilizing a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

The flight will operate thrice weekly, continuing beyond Bridgetown to Georgetown Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana. Fight KL783 will leave Amsterdam at 09:35 local time, arriving in Bridgetown by 13:35 local time. After this brief stop, the flight is expected to reach Georgetown at 16:40 local time. Returning from Georgetown, the program will take off at 18:00, landing back in Amsterdam at 08:00 the following day.

"Barbados is one of the largest underserved markets in the Caribbean from the Netherlands, providing travelers with a sunny destination during the winter months. Bridgetown is renowned for its stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and rich culture. With this flight combination, KLM is catering to the growing demand for both tourist and business destinations in the Caribbean."

KLM had previously served the Amsterdam-Bridgetown route until March 2023, initially starting the service in October 2021. Between October 2021 and March 2023, the airline operated the route with an Airbus A330-200 and later a Boeing 787-9 for a greater passenger capacity.

Analytical data revealed Martinair was the only other airline serving flights to Bridgetown from the Netherlands until its retirement of passenger services in 2011. Martinair had operated a now-discontinued route from Amsterdam, with stops in Porlamar and direct flights from 2006 to 2007.

Additionally, KLM showed a year-on-year growth of 5.5% in weekly departures from Amsterdam with widebody aircraft in October. However, they dropped the Amsterdam-Minneapolis route for the 2025 schedule. The airline included new routes such as one-stop flights to Georgetown via Saint Martin and direct flights to destinations like Hyderabad and San Diego.
