American Airlines is set to gift 100,000 AAdvantage miles to the first baby born on May 1, which coincides with Frequent Flyer Day, also marking the 44th anniversary of the airline's loyalty program. The initiative is a unique celebration of the milestone.

The airline, with a presence in several major American airports, encourages parents of babies born on that day to participate in a competition by sharing photos on social media and tagging the airline. As a result, the family of the first baby born on May 1 in the United States will receive the miles, setting up the child for future travels with American Airlines.

To participate, photos must be posted on X with the exact time of birth and tagged with #AAdvantage, #FrequentFlyerDay, and #promotion. Upon verification, the AAdvantage member account for the oldest baby born on that day will be credited with 100,000 miles.

Scott Long, American's Senior Vice President of AAdvantage, stated, “Before even taking their first step, the first baby born on Frequent Flyer Day is ready to travel the world with the gift of 100,000 AAdvantage miles." He expressed excitement in welcoming the newest member to the AAdvantage community.

Enrolling children into the AAdvantage program allows them to earn miles on family trips. Parents or guardians need to provide necessary details such as the child's name, date of birth, and contact information. Only babies born in the United States during Central Time Zone will qualify for the giveaway. Participants should be of legal age in their respective states. The competition starts at midnight CDT, and the AAdvantage account for the newborn is a requirement for receiving the prize.

The 100,000 miles hold an approximate value of $2,750 and offer diverse options for redemption, such as traveling with American or its partner airlines, upgrading flights, and booking various services. The miles allow for potential global travel, providing the winners a range of opportunities.

The AAdvantage program offers four status levels based on accumulated loyalty points: Gold with 40,000 points, Platinum with 75,000, Platinum Pro with 125,000, and Executive Platinum with 200,000 points. Members benefit according to their status level.

Overall, the lucky newborn will enjoy the extensive benefits associated with these miles, allowing for both national and international travel options.
