The press conference for the 2025 Wanda Diamond League Red Star Macalline Xiamen Meeting was held on April 10, 2025, at the Fairmont Xiamen, the official designated hotel for the event. At the conference, important details about the event schedule, athlete lineup, and competition events were unveiled. It was also announced that the annual Diamond League will begin in Xiamen on April 26. A signing ceremony was held between Xiamen Airlines and Wanda Sports, with Xiamen Airlines declared the Diamond Partner of the event.

Several notable figures were present at the press conference, including Wang Nan, a member of World Athletics and Vice President of the Chinese Athletics Association, Ruan Dunliang, Director of the Xiamen Municipal Sports Bureau, and Rune Stenersen, Event Director of the Diamond League Xiamen Meeting. Other attendees included Chen Lan, Deputy Director of the Xiamen Municipal Sports Bureau, Wu Mingxian, General Manager of Xiamen State-owned Capital Holding Co., Ltd., Wang Yuliang, General Manager of Xiamen Sports Group Co., Ltd., Zhang Chunyuan, President of Wanda Culture and Tourism Group, Zhang Mei, President of Wanda Sports Group, and Zhu Wenxia, Chairman of the Labor Union of Xiamen Airlines.

The Diamond League is a prestigious one-day series event under the World Athletics umbrella. This year's meeting in Xiamen will take place at the Egret Stadium in the Xiamen Olympic Sports Center on April 26, with nearly 200 athletes from 52 countries confirmed to participate. These include Christian Coleman, the defender of the men's 100-meter dash title at the Xiamen stop, Mondo Duplantis, a high jump world record holder, and Grant Holloway, an Olympic champion in the men's 110-meter hurdles. Representing China, athletes such as Xie Zhenye, Olympic women's shot put champion Gong Lijiao, women's discuss throw world champion Feng Bin, and Wu Yanni, the national record holder in women's 60-meter hurdles, will compete.

Xiamen Airlines continues its support for the Diamond League Xiamen Meeting as the Diamond Partner and the official airline brand of the event, having previously been the naming partner in 2023. Fairmont Xiamen, the official designated hotel, is connected to the new headquarters of Xiamen Airlines in Wuyuan Bay. As the first Fairmont hotel in Fujian, created through collaboration with ACCOR Hotels Group, it aims to reflect the cultural essence of southern Fujian. The hotel offers 414 rooms with expansive urban and sea views and features five dining venues, blending Fujian and global flavors. It provides global athletes with a diverse and high-quality accommodation experience.
