Air France is expanding its service from Paris to Phoenix, increasing the frequency from three to five weekly flights. The airline has shifted from using Boeing 787-9 and 777-200ER to the Airbus A350-900 for this route. According to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the French carrier's direct flights, which commenced on May 23, 2024, have contributed significantly to the state's economy, with an estimated $103 million annual impact. The airport announced this service increase would begin in May, with flights departing from Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport on a more frequent basis.

Phoenix-Sky Harbor emphasized the airline's positive contribution to the airport's offerings. Chad Makovsky, City of Phoenix Aviation Director, noted, "The airline has been a fantastic addition to our airport, and we are grateful for their partnership and commitment to growing this route. With the announced capacity increase, this nonstop flight alone is estimated to have an estimated $103 million annual statewide economic impact, benefitting all of Arizona."

The new five-weekly service will start on May 5. Flight AF68 is set to leave Paris at 10:45 local time and arrive in Arizona at 12:50. The return flight from Phoenix is scheduled to depart at 15:05, arriving in Paris the following day at 10:10.

Phoenix presents two European destinations: Paris and London, with the latter served daily by American Airlines and British Airways. The expansion of Air France services indicates a strategic enhancement of the transatlantic connection. Air France-KLM's Vice President of Commercial, North America, Boaz Hulsman, remarked, "This capacity increase symbolizes our commitment to enhancing the transatlantic travel connection."

Phoenix-Sky Harbor and Cirium's Diio Mi airline planning tool highlight that Air France's load factors improved significantly since the service began, potentially influencing the decision to increase flight frequency.

Cranky Flier awarded the Paris-Phoenix route the 'Sexiest New Long-Haul Route' during the Cranky Network Awards in February, highlighting the appeal and competitiveness of this connection.
