Starting October 1, Delta Air Lines will introduce new travel experiences available for purchase on Delta.com and the Fly Delta app. The airline will offer refreshed products named Basic, Classic, and Extra for Delta Main, and Classic and Extra for all products from Delta Comfort and above. These options are available on flights originating from the U.S. and Canada.

Delta aims to provide a shopping experience that aligns with customer needs while maintaining the value and service expected from the airline. The updates were announced in May to allow time for operational preparations and customer familiarization before their implementation in October.

For customers who purchased tickets prior to May 15, changes will not affect those holding "Basic Economy" or non-refundable tickets under the new names "Delta Main Basic" or "Classic." However, customers with refundable tickets traveling after October 1 in markets where "Extra" is launched will automatically receive this experience without needing further action.

Modifications post-purchase are not allowed for experiences but can be made by canceling itineraries subject to fees or fare differences. Product upgrades are possible post-purchase while maintaining consistent experiences throughout the journey.

The Fly Delta app has also been updated to include live activities for real-time flight updates, Global and Regional Upgrade Certificate redemption, among other features.

The availability of Basic, Classic, and Extra experiences varies by route. While Basic is system-wide subject to availability, Extra is limited to itineraries starting in the U.S., Canada, or select international markets. In markets where Extra is unavailable, the legacy Refundable product will be offered instead.

Upgrade eligibility remains influenced primarily by Medallion Status and product purchased. Among members with equivalent status purchasing identical products, those choosing an Extra experience will have priority.
