Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) continues to experience growth, serving over 7.6 million passengers last year, up from 7.3 million in 2023. Despite being the seventh-busiest airport in Florida, it offers connections to approximately 50 destinations via nearly a dozen carriers.

Aviation analytics firm Cirium has ranked JAX's busiest routes by flight frequency for May. Leading the list is Delta Air Lines' route to Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International with 346 monthly flights. This connection stands out as the shortest on the list at just 270 miles.

Following closely is American Airlines' service to Charlotte Douglas International, offering up to seven daily flights and totaling 210 departures this month. The route operates primarily with Airbus A321 and CRJ-900 aircraft.

Another significant route for American Airlines is between JAX and Miami International, featuring up to five daily flights using A319 and Boeing 737 aircraft. Although it's an intrastate route within Florida, it ranks as the third-shortest at 334 miles.

Southwest Airlines operates four daily flights between Jacksonville and Baltimore/Washington International with its Boeing 737-family fleet, totaling 124 monthly departures without competition on this city pairing.

American Airlines provides a strong presence on its Philadelphia International route from Jacksonville with four daily services using A319 and CRJ-900 aircraft.

United Airlines offers frequent connections to Newark Liberty International with a total of 114 monthly flights utilizing Boeing and Airbus aircraft models.

Delta Connection provides direct service from Jacksonville to New York LaGuardia operated by Endeavor Air under Delta Connection brand, completing a total of 113 monthly flights with Bombardier CRJ-900 jets.

The Washington Reagan National route sees American Airlines operating between three and four daily flights using A319s and Embraer E170s through its regional brand American Eagle.

Rounding out the top ten is United's service to Houston Intercontinental with United Express providing seasonal additions. The airline utilizes Boeing 737s and Airbus A319s for its scheduled departures totaling 102 this month.
