Hawaiian Airlines has announced a new no-show policy, effective from May 15. According to Hawaii News Now, the airline will cancel reservations for passengers who fail to board their ticketed flights. This includes layover and return flights, with no refunds or credits provided for money or miles spent on the flight.

The airline defines a no-show passenger as someone who has confirmed a reservation but does not board their flight. Passengers can adjust reservations beforehand, and refundable tickets may still be refunded based on the terms at purchase time.

The policy applies to all non-refundable tickets bought in the US, while tickets purchased outside the US may have different rules. No exceptions are made for corporate clients or members of HawaiianMiles or Mileage Plan Elite programs. Corporate clients might be eligible for travel credit depending on their fare specifics.

Hawaiian Airlines advises customers to change flights if they anticipate missing them. Changes can be made online via HawaiianAirlines.com by accessing "Manage Flights" under "My Trips." If changes cannot be made online, contacting the reservations department is recommended.

The airline explains that this policy allows them to sell seats of absent passengers to last-minute buyers or those seeking additional space. There are no change fees; however, fare differences may apply when changing flights.

No-show policies are common among airlines, with some charging fees ranging from $100–$200 depending on the airline and fare class. Currently, Hawaiian Airlines does not impose additional no-show fees when a passenger misses a flight.
