Earlier this week, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 experienced a tire burst during takeoff from Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The aircraft, operating flight AS413 to Portland, Oregon, continued its journey despite the incident. As a precautionary measure, emergency services were placed on standby for its arrival at Portland International Airport.

The flight landed safely and ahead of schedule without needing assistance from the emergency teams. An Alaska Airlines spokesperson remarked: "While this incident is a rare occurrence, our flight crews train extensively to safely manage through many scenarios. We apologize for any concern this experience may have caused."

Flight AS413 typically departs Chicago at 07:00 and arrives in Portland at 09:23 local time. On May 19th, the plane took off slightly late but managed to arrive two minutes early at 09:21.

The aircraft involved in the incident was a Boeing 737-900ER with registration N247AK. It has remained grounded in Portland since its arrival two days ago while undergoing evaluation by maintenance technicians due to the burst tire.

Alaska Airlines confirmed that "pilots declared an emergency landing to ensure additional support was available." The airline plans for N247AK to depart for Seattle later today.
