Etihad Airways reports record profit for Q1 of 2025

Etihad Airways has announced a record-breaking start to 2025, achieving its highest-ever profit for the first quarter. The Abu Dhabi-based airline reported a profit of AED 685 million ($187 million), marking a 30% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Total revenues reached $1.8 billion, with passenger revenue accounting for $1.5 billion.

The airline carried five million passengers in the first quarter, reflecting a 16% year-on-year increase. Its load factor was recorded at 87%, and cargo revenue rose by 8% to $261 million. Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves expressed satisfaction with these results: "We are proud to deliver a record-breaking quarter, both in profitability and in guest satisfaction."

In terms of fleet expansion, Etihad operated nine additional aircraft compared to Q1 of 2024, bringing its total operating fleet to 98 planes. The workforce also expanded significantly with nearly 1,000 new employees added over the past year.

Internal promotions were notable as well, with advancements for around 500 staff members including cabin crew and pilots. Customer satisfaction improved by 20%, attributed to enhancements across various service areas.

Etihad's sustainable growth strategy is evident as it maintained consistent load factors while increasing capacity by adding more flights and expanding its fleet size from last year.
