London Heathrow Airport, the largest and busiest airport in the United Kingdom, has announced a new addition to its dining options. Terminal 5 will soon welcome a Five Guys outlet, marking the first time this US-based burger chain will be present at an airport in the UK or Europe.

Five Guys is known for its burgers, fries, and hot dogs. The chain was established nearly four decades ago and now boasts close to 2,000 locations worldwide. Its expansion into Heathrow's Terminal 5 is expected to create tens of new jobs and serve both eat-in and takeaway customers.

Heathrow has temporarily rebranded Terminal 5 as 'Terminal Five Guys' in anticipation of the restaurant's opening. This terminal is primarily used by British Airways for most of its flights to and from Heathrow.

The upcoming Five Guys outlet will occupy a 2,500 square feet space on the upper level of Terminal 5. It will have a capacity for around 90 sit-in customers and include "a dedicated Welcome Host [who will] greet passengers and enhance the Five Guys experience." Fraser Brown, Retail Director at London Heathrow Airport, expressed enthusiasm about the development: "We're very excited to welcome Five Guys to Terminal 5 - becoming the first airport in the UK and Europe to host the beloved burger brand."

The restaurant plans to operate during all flight hours at Heathrow, offering both daytime and breakfast menu options. The ordering kiosks will support six different languages, making it accessible for international travelers.

This expansion is part of London Heathrow Airport's broader employment impact. With over 114,000 local jobs supported by the facility—including approximately 76,000 directly employed staff—the addition of Five Guys is expected to "create between 80 and 100 new jobs for the terminal." Since entering the UK market in 2013, Five Guys has opened around 170 restaurants across various locations in Britain.
