Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Norse Atlantic Airways have resumed their seasonal flights between Berlin and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport. The airline, which began this route in August 2022, initially attempted year-round services but switched to a seasonal schedule in 2023. Flights ceased in October 2023 and restarted in May 2024.

On May 23, the airport announced the resumption of these flights, with Flight 601 departing Berlin at 19:20 local time and landing in New York at 22:00. "The evening departure allows for a relaxed journey, with you landing in New York in the evening (local time) and being able to start the next day well rested," stated the airport.

Norse Atlantic is operating this route using its Boeing 787-9 aircraft on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flight tracking data shows that flight 602 had already flown from New York-JFK to Berlin on May 23.

The airline returned to this route after breaks since its initial launch in August 2022. In addition to New York-JFK, Norse Atlantic also launched flights to Los Angeles International Airport during that period. According to Cirium data, Norse Atlantic operated flights between Berlin Brandenburg and New York-JFK from August 2022 until October 2023 and then again from May 2024 until January.

Bjørn Tore Larsen, CEO of Norse Atlantic, highlighted the importance of direct transatlantic connectivity for Berlin when launching these services. He emphasized that the airline's competitive fares offer a cost-effective travel option for both business travelers and those utilizing cargo services.

Cirium data indicates that Germany’s flag carrier Lufthansa has no scheduled flights from or to Berlin Brandenburg Airport in 2025. Eurowings ranks second among carriers by scheduled departing seats but does not significantly impact long-haul connectivity for Berlin.

Since the opening of Berlin Brandenburg Airport post-2020 delays, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines are the only other carriers offering flights from Berlin to New York. United Airlines operates flights to Newark Liberty International Airport with codeshare options through Lufthansa.

In addition to routes like Miami International Airport and Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, United Airlines briefly connected Washington Dulles International Airport with Berlin Brandenburg from May to October 2023.
