Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was recently seen flying on American Airlines, a move that caught the attention of both her cabin crew and social media users. A flight attendant named Nina Vida shared her experience with Markle on TikTok, revealing that the Duchess left a thoughtful note for the crew during their interaction.
The decision to fly commercial comes after Markle faced criticism for using private jets. This public choice may be an attempt to address the criticism and improve her public image. "Dear AA girlies," Markle wrote in her note, "thank you for the love, hospitality and handwritten note — you know me well. All love right back to you. As ever, Meghan."
Markle's use of private air travel has been controversial due to its environmental impact. Despite being recognized as an environmental "role model" in 2021 alongside her husband Prince Harry, she faced backlash following a recent private jet trip along North America's west coast. The journey reportedly cost up to $30,000 and emitted six tons of carbon dioxide.
